By accessing or using Music at Reach ('MAR', 'we', 'us'), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not access or use the platform. These terms apply to all users - clients who book performers, and performers who offer services.
MAR is an online marketplace that connects clients seeking live musical performers with verified professional musicians, DJs, MCs, backup singers, and dancers in Nigeria. MAR facilitates discovery, communication, and payment between parties - but does not itself provide performance services. All bookings are between clients and performers directly.
You must be 18 years or older to create an account. You must provide accurate, complete information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Performers must complete identity verification before taking bookings.
Clients may browse performer profiles, post job listings, send booking requests, and make payments through the platform. Clients agree to: provide accurate event details when booking; pay agreed amounts promptly; treat performers with respect; provide honest, fair reviews after events; not attempt to bypass MAR's payment system by paying performers directly (doing so voids all dispute protection).
Performers may create profiles, set rates, accept or decline bookings, and receive payouts. Performers agree to: provide accurate, honest profile information; maintain up-to-date availability; honor confirmed bookings; deliver services as agreed with the client; respond to messages within 24 hours; not misrepresent qualifications, skills, or experience; comply with all local Nigerian laws applicable to their work.
All payments flow through MAR's escrow system. Client funds are held securely until the event is completed and confirmed. Payouts to performers are released within 2–5 business days after client confirmation. MAR charges a platform service fee on each transaction, disclosed clearly before booking confirmation. Payments are processed in Nigerian Naira (NGN).
Cancellation policies depend on timing: cancellations 7+ days before an event are eligible for a full refund; 3–7 days prior incur a 25% cancellation fee; within 72 hours of an event, clients forfeit 50% of payment. Performers who cancel confirmed bookings are subject to account penalties. Emergency cancellations (verified force majeure) are reviewed case by case.
If a dispute arises between a client and performer, either party may open a dispute within 48 hours of the event. MAR's support team will review evidence from both parties and issue a determination within 5 business days. MAR's decision on escrow release is final. For unresolved disputes, Nigerian law and Lagos courts have jurisdiction.
You may not: impersonate any person or entity; post false, misleading, or deceptive content; use MAR for any illegal purpose; harass, threaten, or abuse any user; attempt to reverse-engineer or hack the platform; create multiple accounts to evade bans; circumvent platform fees by transacting outside MAR after first connecting through it.
All MAR branding, logos, design, and software are the exclusive property of Music at Reach. Users retain ownership of content they upload (profiles, audio samples, etc.) but grant MAR a non-exclusive license to display this content on the platform for service delivery purposes.
MAR is a marketplace platform and is not liable for: the quality of performances delivered; client-performer conflicts; losses arising from cancellations; technical interruptions; third-party payment processor issues. Our total liability to any user is limited to the amount paid to MAR in the 3 months preceding a claim.
MAR reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or harms the community. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Pending escrow transactions will be resolved before account closure.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in Lagos State courts unless otherwise agreed.
