Music at Reach ('MAR', 'we', 'us', or 'our') is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your data when you use our platform - whether as a client booking performers or as a musician offering services. By using MAR, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. MAR operates primarily in Nigeria and complies with Nigerian data protection principles including the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, bank details (for payouts), profile information including photos, audio/video samples, instrument type, genres, and pricing. We also collect information automatically including IP addresses, device type, browser type, pages visited, and usage patterns. For performers, we also collect identity verification documents to ensure platform safety.
We use your information to: create and manage your account; facilitate bookings between clients and performers; process payments and payouts via escrow; send booking confirmations, receipts, and notifications; improve our platform through usage analytics; resolve disputes and prevent fraud; communicate important updates about MAR; comply with legal obligations under Nigerian law.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share data only as necessary: with other users when facilitating a booking (e.g., sharing your name and contact details with a performer you've booked); with payment processors to handle transactions securely; with identity verification services for performer background checks; with legal authorities when required by Nigerian law or court order; with service providers who help us operate the platform under strict confidentiality agreements.
We retain your account information as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we retain certain data for up to 12 months for fraud prevention, legal compliance, and dispute resolution purposes. Transaction records are retained for 7 years in compliance with Nigerian financial regulations.
MAR uses industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for all data in transit. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Sensitive financial data is handled by certified payment processors. We conduct regular security audits. Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure - if you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately.
Under the NDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements); withdraw consent for data processing; lodge a complaint with Nigeria's National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@musicatreach.com.
MAR uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and analyze platform usage. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect platform functionality.
MAR is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a child has created an account on MAR, please contact us and we will promptly delete the account.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on our platform. Your continued use of MAR after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
